La mia recensione del volume di Jacob Edmond sottolinea l'attenzione costante dell'Autore verso il superamento dell'opposizione binaria che caratterizza il pensiero occidentale anche nell'analisi del prodotto poetico. My review of Jacob Edmond's volume underlines the continuous attention of the Author towards the possibility of overcoming the binary opposition that characterizes the Western way of analysis also when even taking into consideration a poetic work.

Yet, Libya's contemporary literary scene features outstanding figures, such as the eclectic writer 'Ali Mustafà al-Misrati, whose novels, short stories and essays deal with significant historical, political and social themes. Images of the health emergency in contemporary poetry
2021
Pictures portraying the health emergency around the world, such as those of the potter’s field in Hart Island, of the field hospitals in New York or of the column of military trucks transporting the coffins of COVID-19 victims in Bergamo, had worldwide resonance. This research investigates their metaphorical value in two recent poems: Plaguey Hill by Paul Muldoon and Requiem per una casa di riposo lombarda (Requiem for a Lombard Rest Home) by Fabio Pusterla. The preliminary aim is a complete analysis of the two poems. Thereafter, I will focus on the metaphorical function of the aforementioned pictures. In Muldoon, they convey a new sense of community, and also work on a meta literary level,…
La vita e le strane sorprendenti avventure di Arturo. Per un confronto con Robinson Crusoe
2020
he life and strange surprising adventures of Arturo. Cues for a comparison with Robinson Crusoe · The article displays a comparative reading between L’isola di Arturo and Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe, inspired by a statement made by Elsa Morante in a 1957 interview after the awarding of the ‘Strega’ prize. In the first place, the press coverage of the novel is studied with particular attention to confrontations with Robinson. Secondly, I aim to trace the steps of the possibility that Morante actually took into account Defoe’s novel. Afterward, a short, comparative study concerning a possible impact of Robinson on Arturo is proposed. The confrontation goes through several issues: narrative patter…
Through Different Eyes. Feminine Science and Literature in Early Modern Culture

The question of a dominant model of vision will be at stake in this essay, which will try to provoke other questions on the ways in which non-dominant models of vision have tried to spread out in a particularly revolutionary and dramatic period. Particularly the works of three English writers – Margaret Cavendish, Aphra Behn, Eliza Haywood – and their commitment with the matter of gaze will be analysed.
